Explanation In Pursuance Of Books Alamat ng Gubat

i really love how bob ong writes. there is meaning behind all the humor that he presents. and the way he tells a story is very casual. There are a lot of symbolisms in this one like: gubat=Philippines; Leon (who was abusive)= tax evaders, political clans, illegal vendors, etc.; hari=politicians (Bulag-bulagan, bingi-bingihan...they know the presnce of poverty but they do not do anything about it). There is also the presence of Filipino stereotype: matsing=smart, he was almost like Pilosopong Tasyo. It also reveals the problem in Philippines regarding elections wherein there is bribery, foul play(presence of the oppressive, and the voting of the people with no proper reason. True to the style of Bob Ong he reveals the point at the end of the book (tong:) that the Filipinos should aim for change and do something about it.
and as usual I love the humor and the format of the story-it really was like telling a story to a kid with uncomplicated characters. simple but meaningful.

IS BEING NOT BAD, BEING GOOD ALREADY?

Discuss Regarding Books Alamat ng Gubat
One of my favourite Bob Ong books. Presented in the form of a fable, it shows the different "animals" you may meet sa tabi-tabi or see on your idiot boxes or sa government offices and mismong balota during hunting, este, voting season. ;)It's funny, enjoyable and interesting. Light take on a not so light topic. Ewan. Basta, favourite ko to.

i want to know the story

A children's book for adults. Don't let the cute illustrations fool you.A modern fable delivered in Bob Ong's trademark style. Behind the thin veil of humor and the colorful art are the grim realities of the Philippines; corruption, greed, toxicity, and all.The animals, from the insects to the large predators, all represent classes of Filipino people, from the ignorant and powerless poor to the exploitative elite. One of the most notable spectacles to occur in the story was when the prey animals

This Bob Ong book (or should I say booklet?)is very humorous for me. I kept on guessing what the dog will do (which is: barfing every time he finishes and begins talking)when I was reading it.The crab there was trying to say some words in english but his pronunciation was kind of different (it was written differently so it makes you think of the different pronunciation of the crab). In general, I really like this book(or booklet, because it's so thin!) and I'm sad because I think some one borrowed

Funny and witty

Yes, pati to pinatulan ko ! Bob Ong was a thing in high school.
