Nope. Can't do it. Don't usually rate a book I can't finish - it's unfair - but this one deserves it. It is NOT OK to include a scene describing in detail how a main character rapes his wife and she enjoys it. I get how he's a big, bad Satanist and all that, but, sorry, it's just not on. Disgusted.

I read the translated edition, however, that is not listed in Goodreads. 'Let the Games Begin'--odd, entertaining, keeps you on your toes. Do not miss a detail or you lose track of the plot; fascinating characters.

The book has its faults. Some of the descriptions are a bit heavy-handed and the short chapters mean youre continually flipping from one storyline to the next and back. It all adds to the general feeling of disorientation though.
