I still dream of this comics series. There, I said it, comics, not graphic novel.Despite all the references to Shakespeare, Greek mythology, more "exotic" myths and history in general, it still felt comic-y. Sometimes this feeling was due to the artwork, sometimes to the story itself (especially in the first volumes, with stories set in Gotham Arkham thing...)Still, I found myself so intrigued after having read a thousand-or-so pages that I absorbed almost all the information available on the

Long, dense, and frustratingly uneven. And yet, at the same time, unquestionably brilliant. Though I found a number of the plots off putting, just as many were so good that they almost made me want to return to the beginning and reread the whole again. It was a bit of a challenging mess, but I think that was sort of the point. In the end, while my personal enjoyment may have run the gamut, taken as a whole, the Sandman is a fully realized mythology and an inspired piece of storytelling well

Mythology - Literature - Graphics. Deep & Brilliant. I have to admit some of the later volumes were far beyond me. But Am sure I will come back to this once again before I leave.
