Commentary To Books Fly Away (Firefly Lane #2)

Once, a long time ago, I walked down a night-darkened road called Firefly Lane, all alone, on the worst night of my life, and I found a kindred spirit. That was our beginning. More than thirty years ago. TullyandKate. You and me against the world. Best friends forever. But stories end, don't they? You lose the people you love and you have to find a way to go on. . . .

Tully Hart has always been larger than life, a woman fueled by big dreams and driven by memories of a painful past. She thinks she can overcome anything until her best friend, Kate Ryan, dies. Tully tries to fulfill her deathbed promise to Kate---to be there for Kate's children---but Tully knows nothing about family or motherhood or taking care of people.

Sixteen-year-old Marah Ryan is devastated by her mother's death. Her father, Johnny, strives to hold the family together, but even with his best efforts, Marah becomes unreachable in her grief. Nothing and no one seems to matter to her . . . until she falls in love with a young man who makes her smile again and leads her into his dangerous, shadowy world.

Dorothy Hart---the woman who once called herself Cloud---is at the center of Tully's tragic past. She repeatedly abandoned her daughter, Tully, as a child, but now she comes back, drawn to her daughter's side at a time when Tully is most alone. At long last, Dorothy must face her darkest fear: Only by revealing the ugly secrets of her past can she hope to become the mother her daughter needs.

A single, tragic choice and a middle-of-the-night phone call will bring these women together and set them on a poignant, powerful journey of redemption. Each has lost her way, and they will need each one another---and maybe a miracle---to transform their lives.

An emotionally complex, heart-wrenching novel about love, motherhood, loss, and new beginnings, Fly Away reminds us that where there is life, there is hope, and where there is love, there is forgiveness. Told with her trademark powerful storytelling and illuminating prose, Kristin Hannah reveals why she is one of the most beloved writers of our day.

Notice Appertaining To Books Fly Away (Firefly Lane #2)
I read the first book. It was less than delightful, but I was still disappointed by this book. There are spoilers from here on but it doesn't exactly matterMost of it turned out to be flashbacks of Tully's where living through that would have been just fine. Here we learned a lot about Dorothy, or Cloud, or whatever she's called at the moment, but here we also realize that Tully and everything in her life is just bad. I don't even think horrible or awful work quite as well as bad. Cliche after

Sometimes when I finish a book i feel so many emotions that I dont know where to start a review. This is a story of 2 families who struggle at the loss of Kate to cancer: Johnny her husband, Mara, Lucas and Will her children, her parents and Tully, her BFF. Kate was the center of their world and the author artfully tells of their journeys of how each learned to live with their loss. It is a powerful and emotional novel and worth the read.

After a tragic accident, the lives of three women are brought together. They have each made decisions in the past that put their lives in misguided directions. As they experience tragedy, they each have the opportunity for redemption.Tully is at a loss after her best friend, Kate, dies. She promised Kate she would be there for her children, but falls short with that promise. Marah is Kate's teenage daughter. With her mother gone, Marah's life starts floundering and she needs someone to love her

I purchased an ARC copy of this book on eBay.If I could give this book 6 out of 5 stars, I would. This sequel to FIREFLY LANE exceeds the original story of TullyandKate. I read the book in one sitting, accidentally. I wanted to stretch my reading time out for days, but couldn't do it. I encourage readers to peruse FIREFLY LANE before beginning this book, although FLY AWAY is also a stand alone novel. The story begins four years after Kate's death from breast cancer. Told primarily from Tully's

Well, I have been so excited to read this book. I just re-read Firefly Lane to refresh my memory and I cried my eyes out all over again even though I knew the ending. I bought Fly Away on Friday and kept looking at it thinking I wanted to read it, but wanted to wait to b/c then it would be over. My excitement got the best of me, so I started it Saturday night and finished it at 1 Am this morning. I just could not put it down. I have never felt so connected to characters, as I do with Kate,

Three stars I guess, though I dont know that I can say I liked it but it was certainly readable. From the moment I started this I knew this was going to be an emotive novel, one could almost say a tear jerker. I kept thinking how I would feel if it was my best friend who died. It was an emotive read but not quite in the way I was expecting. The novel deals with loss. Kate, Tullys best friend over thirty years, has succumbed to cancer. I found this novel hard to read for several reasons. Firstly
