Assess Based On Books Sweetbriar
I love Jude Deveraux books usually. But somehow i didnt really like this.I mean yeh it was funny and all that and the story was good. But i just got simply annoyed when Linnet and Devon kept on encountering one problem after another. The story starts with Linnet and her family having to leave their mansion back in London due to her father losing his diamond mines. They join a band of wagons get raided by Indians while they were travelling. The Indians take the children and sell them to families

When her wagon train is ambushed by renegade Shawnees, beautiful young Linnet Tyler is the sole adult survivor. Taken prisoner, alone in a harsh land, she faces an uncertain, terrifying future with a steely courage that belies her fragile beauty. Thanks to his Shawnee grandmother, Devon Macalister is as much at ease roaming the forest trails with his Indian cousins as he is in the little settlement of Sweetbriar where he makes his home, and he is determined to rescue this lovely captive. But the

This was a pretty good book. I wasn't sure How it would be based on the awful cover. It was pretty well written, and a good story. I wish the ending hadn't been rushed, I would have loved to read more about the characters lives after the end of the book.

Inability to put downI just could not put this book down. When I wasn't reading it I was thinking about it. The story developed into so many exciting twists and turns that I was unable to stop reading until long into the night. Fantastic reading. Thank you!

Some of my ancestors lived in Kentucky and one was with Daniel Boone in his explorations, even married his sister so I thought this book was interesting particularly in the relationships with the Indians.

A good historical western read with wagon trains, Indians, and cowboys. Lots of action and a healthy dose of romance

I liked the book very much. It made my hours of traveling fly. About the plot and setting: the plot was very dynamic as in many of JD books. The characters go through many adventures together and by themselves. The main conflict relies on Devon fighting and embracing his thoughts and feelings. In the way, there are new towns, characters, attacks and kidnapping from the indians, plotting, rescuing and love. The setting is not one of my favorites (Americas Kentucky during the town/indians period)
