Yongbi is a bounty hunter. He is uncommonly good at what he does considering his not too menacing and not too bright appearance (sometimes is genuinely dense). He travels the country in the company of his faithful and eccentric (for lack of better description) horse, Biryong.
His lust for pretty women is overshadowed only by his love of money. Not a pure-hearted hero, our Yongbi. But there is more to him that meets the eye .... and we have time.

In the first volume, Yongbi is taking his captive Goo Hwi, the notorious leader of the Black Snakes, to Hobuk province to collect the reward. After fending off various attacks from the Black Snakes and thwarting Goo Hwi's attempts of escape, Yongbi saves the only son of the head of the Geumcheonbo, the largest merchant clan in the country. The child buys Yongbi's services in order to reach his relatives in town.
This was an enjoyable romp. A little outdated, a little roll-eye-worthy with some jokes (like that prison scene with the muscle men trying to give Goo Hwi a "warm welcome" ), over the top at moments, but all-in-all a great fun. The drawing style is more manga than manhwa, at least the manhwa I've read so far (I think). It is a long running series, so I'll see how it goes for at least two volumes before committing myself to it.

P.S.
Biryong and Goo Hwi were hillarious. Yongbi was alright, but the crazy horse and the villain were a hoot.

This bizarre little Korean story involves supernaturally strong martial artists, skilled assassins, and a carnivorous horse. The story was fun, but the artwork was more than a little confusing in a few points, so I couldn't give it more than three stars. The central character is a bounty hunter, and his horse is clearly the more intelligent of the pair, but he's clearly not just a horse. Between his super-keen senses and his diet, clearly there's something more going on with the horse, but itfunny and different.Rating, 4.5Original title: 용비불패English title: Yongbi the InvincibleAuthor: Ryu Ki-woon (류기운)Artist: Moon Jung-hoo (문정후)Country of origin: South KoreaGenre: Martial arts, Comedy, Shounen, Adventure, HistoricalVolumes total: 23 (Collector's Edition, 15)Volume 01 / Chapters: 01-11Yongbi is a bounty hunter.
