The second Erec Rex book is as fun to read as the first. The original characters are back with a few notable additions. I listened to the audiobook version of this book and it has an intro by Kaza Kingsley. It's interesting to the hear the author talk about how she thought of the series and the way she has planned the story arch. This book had me sighing and rolling my eyes in some parts.Hardly any improvement from the first book...actually worse than the first book...Dull & bland characters with no depth of slight development.None of the characters fill the story out-they say things that don't suit them or fit with them, there is hardly any explanation to the characters thoughts/behaviours/beliefs/stories/background-yeah they are all very two dimensional and very flat!Even those on Erec's side-their

I have finished reading this second installment of Erek Rex, The Monster of Otherness.During the course of reading this book, there are mysteries provided that left us guessing. I guessed right for most if not all, around 5 chapters before it was confirmed. This is in no way a testament to how well my deduction was or how obvious Mrs. Kingsley's writing was. I think I just have read some more fantasy story than I should have. Again, this book maybe meant to be read and enjoyed by someone younger

Kaza Kingsley is a Harry Potter fan and she's not trying to hide it 😊 Anyway, I may be reading the third book, but only because I've got a lot of time on my hands. Hem hem.
