Narration During Books A Highlander Christmas (Pine Creek Highlanders #7)

Camry MacKeage has absolutely no intention of telling her parents that she left her job as a NASA physicist for the small-town life of a dog-sitter—which is why she's spending the holidays alone in coastal Maine with her furry friends, Tigger and Max.

Unfortunately, her irresistibly handsome rival, scientist Luke Pascal, accidentally spilled the beans. Now he's on a mission from her mother to tempt Camry home for the family's annual winter solstice celebration. But Luke is hiding his own secret, and he'll need a little bit of magic to earn Camry's trust...and a whole lot of mistletoe to seduce his way into her heart.

Discuss Containing Books A Highlander Christmas (Pine Creek Highlanders #7)
It is a love/life story with an interesting twist. I enjoyed reading it.

Well, as it turns out, this book was part of a series. Didnt bother me though, and the storyline in itself was pretty straight-forward. By no means is this a literary masterpiece, in fact it is pretty bad to be honest. The storyline is all over the place, the plot is way too far fetched and the characters are simply, meh. They meet, fall in love and get married within two weeks. Im guessing the magic thing grows on you if you have followed the characters since the beginning. This did not do it

Not for meI normally enjoy Janet chapmen books, but this one didn't do it for me. Not up to the standard of her other books. Too over the top on everything and rambled too much. I soon lost interest and sadly didn't finish the book.

Pros: This book had nice bits of humor and the kind of charm holiday books are known for. I especially liked the dachshund, Tigger, so I loved that she was on the book cover.Cons: I felt like this book either needed to be more humorous or more serious. It had a strange tone and feel to it that was sort of in between. I also could not relate with the main characters, though other readers may not have that problem. I can accept a certain amount of moodiness in a character, but Camry struck me as

Re-reading. Love this series. It is all about the magic. ;)

This was cute and a lot more magical than I expected. I liked Luke and Camry was fine but the the dogs were the best part. Tigger and Max were just so fun! As this is the 7th book in this series I felt like I missed out on some things by not having read any of the prior books. But it wasn't anything so big that I felt like I couldn't understand this story. I don't know that I'll actively seek out more books in this series but if I came across them I'd give them a shot.

I am going to say this straight out of the gate, so there are no surprises later: this is not a positive review, and I did not enjoy this book.In retrospect, there were a lot of warning signs that I probably wouldn't enjoy this book. The story employs one of my least favorite plot devices ever (nosy meddling mother sends supposed man of daughter's dreams to find her and bring her back to the bosom of her loved ones). The heroine shares her name with a Toyota. There's a weiner dog on the cover.
